What this site is for
Most hotel reviews tell you about the hotel. Almost none tell you about the three minutes of walking you do between the metro exit and the front door at 11pm, which is usually what people actually worry about when booking somewhere they have never been.
nebastay guide reviews the location. For each neighborhood we cover, we look at how the surrounding streets feel after dark, how well connected the area is, what kind of street activity to expect, and which specific properties sit on the better blocks. The hotel's service, breakfast and thread count are somebody else's department.
How the research is done
We build each guide from public sources, not from paid placements or press trips:
- Public crime and incident statistics, where a city publishes them at neighborhood level
- Official government travel advisories
- Traveler reviews and neighborhood discussion, read in volume and weighted for recency
- Transit maps and walking routes between properties and the nearest stations
Research and drafting are AI-assisted, and every guide is reviewed by a person before it is published. We think that is worth stating plainly rather than implying a newsroom that does not exist.
What we do not claim
We have not personally stayed in every hotel we write about, and we do not pretend otherwise. There is no named journalist byline on these guides because there is no journalist behind them; the publisher is the brand, and that is what our structured data says too.
Safety information is compiled for pre-trip reference. It is not a guarantee, conditions change, and you should always check current local and official advisories before you travel.
How the site is funded
Some links to booking platforms are affiliate links. If you book through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That commission is what pays for the site.
It does not buy a recommendation. Hotels cannot pay to appear in a guide, to rank higher within one, or to have an unflattering note about their street removed. Where we think an area is a bad idea for a particular kind of traveler, we say so, including when that costs us the booking.
