The short version
We do not run analytics, we do not have accounts, and we do not ask you for anything. There is no signup, no newsletter and no comment form on this site. If you read a guide and leave, we hold nothing about you beyond the server log our host keeps.
The one thing worth reading below is what happens when you click through to a booking site, because that is where a third party does start tracking you.

What we collect directly
Nothing. This is a static site. It has no login, no forms, no newsletter signup and no comments, so there is no point at which you hand us personal data through the site itself.
If you email us, we obviously receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We keep that correspondence for as long as it is useful to answer you and to keep a record of corrections, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data needed to serve the page and to protect the site from attack, which can include your IP address, browser type and the page you requested. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this and may set strictly necessary security cookies of its own for bot detection. We do not use this data to build any profile of you, and we have no way to connect it to a person.
Cookies and tracking
We set no cookies of our own and run no analytics, tag manager, heatmap or advertising script on this site. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font CDN, so loading a page does not announce your visit to a third party.
If that changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live, and anything that is not strictly necessary will ask for your consent first.
Affiliate links
Some links to booking platforms are affiliate links. If you book through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Clicking one takes you to a third party such as a booking platform, which will set its own cookies and apply its own privacy policy, not ours. Typically it records that the visit came from us so any resulting booking can be attributed for commission. We receive only aggregate reporting from the affiliate network, meaning counts of clicks and bookings. We never receive your name, your email address, your payment details or your itinerary.
Once you leave this site, what happens to your data is governed by the policy of whichever platform you land on. It is worth reading theirs if that matters to you.

Guides link out to sources such as city statistics pages, official advisories and neighborhood map tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site we link to.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict our processing of it, and to receive a copy of it. In practice the honest answer for most visitors is that we hold nothing, but ask and we will tell you.
Send requests to hello@nebastay.com. We respond within one month, as the GDPR requires.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, theAutoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Children
This site is aimed at adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and given that we collect none from anyone, the question is largely academic.
Changes to this policy
If we add anything that processes your data, for example analytics or a newsletter, we will update this page and change the date below before it goes live.
